Anubias nana Variegated

( Anubias nana V Variegated) Wow, this was a project!! Tissue culture techniques allowed me to introduce the standard variegated genes into these.. There is a lot of white in them. The original parents were standard broadleaf Anubias nana. The white will reduce somewhat in each leaf over time as it grows larger but they have a lot of white in them now. You will be seeing these around soon as I have sold a ton of cultures around recently but I think they are about ready to be sold. They are still small plants but rooted and ready for your tank. These are sold by the individual plant.

Anubias nana

Anubias nana

Anubias barteri nana is a smaller version of Anubias barteri. It has the same basic leaf shape as A. barteri (round back tapering to a point). It has green leaves with lighter green undersides. It also has a green rhizome and stems. The only difference between the two is that Anubias nana grows smaller than a standard barteri. Like all Anubias, it can take ANY light level but does the very best at lower light levels. It prefers to be attached to something such as driftwood or rock. Do not bury the roots under soil. It can be grown under or above water, provided it gets sufficient humidity.

Anubias frazeri

Anubias frazeri

Anubias frazeri is a hybrid crossing Anubias barteri with Anubias congensis by Edwin Frazeri and has light green lance wax feel shaped leaves growing to a height of 12-24 inches and a width of 6-10 inches. Due to slower growth it is prone to algae (GSA, BBA, and Diatoms) but can be easily remedied by relocating the Anubias to an area of the tank that has lower lighting (shade), trimming any infected leaves or performing a bleach dip (1 part bleach, 19 parts water) this will cause the Algae to turn white and be easily rubbed off and rinse in non-chlorinated water or spot treatment of Excel. These are sold as single bare root plants.

Anubias nangi

Anubias nangi

Anubias nagi is a cultivar of Anubias barteri nana and Anubias gilletii. This is not a huge tall Anubias, reaching only about 6 inches in fully submerged situations. This is an easy plant like all Anubias requiring only low to medium light and to be attached to a driftwood or other decoration rather than being buried in substrate. Again this is NOT a tall Anubias so it tends to spread and add to its rhizome MUCH faster than other Anubias but still it is a slow grower . These are 4-5 inches tall , so nice medium sized plants.
