Bucephalandra sp " Brownie Ghost"

Bucephalandra sp " Brownie Ghost"

Bucephalandra are a relatively new (to the hobby) and exciting species of plants from Borneo in Indonesia. They are similar to Anubias and Java ferns in that they have rhizomes can can be grown on driftwood or rocks. Like Anubias and Java ferns, they are a fairly undemanding plant as they don't really have any special requirements but will grow very slowly. Most Buce species are quite small (under 5cm) but some of the larger species can grow up to 20cm. We sell our Buce as individual plantlets / stalks. Most will come with 4-7 leaves and can be mounted on lava rocks or SS mesh pads. Please note that THIS Bucephalandra is grown submerged and is showing nice color.. These are a variable leaf Variety with mature leaves smooth or curly edged and round tipped or slightly pointed! Mature leaves ar e deep dark green with a ruddy red hue and newer leaves begin anywhere from red to almost purple!.. This is a medium- small sized Buce. This is Buce Sp 'Brownie Ghost' and is sold by the single stem/runner/piece each

Giant baby Tears Portions

Giant baby Tears Portions

( Micranthemum umbrosum) Giant baby Tears is a wonderful creeping foreground plant. It needs High Light to stay very low growing and small. The higher the light the shorter the plant! Pinching the tips will cause the plant to spread quicker. It is a hardy plant that is usually only affected by low light levels, which cause it to grow upright instead of prostrate. This is sold as a rooted mass of stems filling a 2 fl oz. cup this plant likes light for full leafy growth. Plant the stems apart enough to allow for light or the bases will become stems only and have leaves only toward the top where it can get light. they will grow fuller with leaves and fill out the space well. this is easily cut to increase your initial stem yield as well. NOTE: get the mass of stems wet before you try to pull them apart or untangle them.. this make s it much easier and reduces leaf loss due to tangling!

Glosso portions

Glosso portions

(Glossostigma elantoides) This is by far my favorite carpet plant. I have had both great successes and great failures with this wonderful little plant. Take each strand (you'll normally have 1-2in of plant) and, with tweezers, bury them along your substrate making sure only the leaves are showing (no roots). Each strand should be placed about 1/3 in from each other, this will allow for optimal growth without the plant overshadowing itself to begin with. If you want a thick carpet then plant it 80-90% of where you want it to grow. It needs high-very high light to grow as a LOW carpet, if it doesn't get high light then it will grow upwards towards the light instead of a carpet. It also loves ferts and CO2. After a couple of weeks you will see the glosso spread rapidly, and if you use CO2 it will produce thousands of tiny bubbles. After 2 months it was a lush carpet that I had to prune to keep it from covering everything. It also has and immense root system so if you have to remove it for whatever reason, the whole carpet will come up in one go (not called a carpet plant for nothing) and take a lot of substrate with it. Sold as a 4 ounce portion cup worth like seen in the pic. this...
