Cryptocoryne parva

Cryptocoryne parva

( Cryptocoryne parva) This is by far the smallest of the available Crypts when fully Aquatic what I am, offering is SEMI-emersed and larger than aquatic but converts quickly without major leaf melt to fully Aquatic.. it works great as a foreground plant where it will slowly but happily create a dense carpet. It is also a great addition in nano tanks with its diminutive size. Cryptocoryne parva is a very slow grower even in optimal conditions. In contrast to other Cryptocorynes it needs a lot of light. It is especially important to maintain iron and potassium on a relatively high level to prevent this Crypt from developing serious deficiency symptoms like chloroses and multiple holes in the leaves.

Cryptocoryne retrospiralis

Cryptocoryne retrospiralis is a slightly different looking Cryptocoryne. It has a brownish leaf sometimes going a darker chocolate brown. It's leaves are thin and slightly crinkled along the edges. Despite it's slightly different looks this is a typical Cryptocoryne. It does well in low light but will do equally well in high light as long as it is protected from major algae growth. Cryptocorynes all like moderately rich substrate and acidic substrate can be an advantage though not necessary. These are sold as bare root plants.

Cryptocoryne wendtii Bronze

Cryptocoryne wendtii Bronze

C wendtii is the easiest of the Cryptocorynes to grow. They prefer lower light levels and a rich substrate. Softer waters do them very well, but this is by no means a necessity. They can also be grown emmersed (above the water) but MUST be kept in a very WET and HUMID bog situation. They reproduce (when happy) by making small plantlets on the sides of the "mother" plant. After a while, the original plant ends up being a large clump of Cryptocorynes. This is the Bronze version. It has a reddish bronze top leaf and a yellowish underleaf. these are single - sometimes double- bare root plants
