Carnivorous Plant Growing Medium LRG
It is very important to grow your carnivorous plants in a special medium. They will die in regular soil and you CAN NOT fertilize them at all!!!! We have mixed and bagged a perfect growing medium for them. It is primarily peat and sand with a few trade secrets as well. This is the Large portion that will fill a 6 inch pot once wet to transplant any of your carnivorous plants to. This also works well for aquatic Eriocaulon species.

(Drosera spatulata) This Sundew is a small insectivorous plant. Young they have very little red but mature plants are an intense red color. These plants love sun and moisture. Soak the pots from the bottom using either Rain Water or Distilled water ONLY!!! Never fertilize them!! Placing them in a window will usually give them chances to catch flies!!!

(Drosera filliformis traceyi) This is the largest of the United States Sundews. The leaves are thread like but thick threads and the leaves can reach a length of 18 inches in good conditions. The pics here have some soil attached to the leaves but when clean they are an unusual lemon lime green with whitish sticky hairs all over them making them look downright fuzzy. This is a great plant and one of the showier and easy of the Native sundew plants. Like all carnivorous plants be sure to use the appropriate growing medium when transplanting and do NOT fertilize them. This is a Large sized plant often Two in a pot. It is mature and will almost surely bloom bloom for you this year.
