Crinum natans med/lrg

( Crinum natans ) The Broadleaf Calamistratum, as it is sometimes called, is an easy bulb plant that grows in most conditions. It grows roots fairly quickly. The leaves are crinkled and waved like Crinum calamistratum but the leaves are easyt 4-5 times wider than C. calamistratum. The leaves are tough but snap easily. Each leaf can grow about 2 feet long if allowed to . It puts a few unique demands during planting: Peel off all dead leaves and peel off the outer layer of the bulb. Trim off most of the roots. Then, bury the very bottom tip of it. If the whole bulb or even half is buried, the bulb rots! After it is growing well, you can remove old and broken leaves, which encourages new ones.

Propagation is more difficult and slow than most plants. It needs a deep substrate of 2-3 inches. It does well with no CO2. HERBIVORE SAFE!! Low light is fine but it would appreciate a nutritious substrate or root tab. Water flow over the leaves encourages longer leaf growth.

These are med large bulbs and growing well.
